From the diaspora to the motherland, we connect athletes to resources, guide players and parents through the athletic journey, and celebrate wins no matter what season you're in.
This community is for athletes by athletes and is designed to provide tips and tools; share inspirational stories; give support during challenging times, and champion remarkable achievements along the way.

Player of the Month
Chiaka Ogbogu is a middle blocker for LOVB Austin. She is from Coppell, Texas and is of Nigerian descent. Chiaka was the 2012 Gatorade Texas Player of the Year who led her high school to two state championships. At the University of Texas, Chiaka was a three-time First Team All-American and set the school record for blocks and block assists. With the U.S. National Team, she’s won two Olympic medals – gold at Tokyo 2020, silver at Paris 2024 – and was named to the Paris 2024 Dream Team as Best Blocker. Chiaka’s also powered the U.S. to two Volleyball Nations League titles. Professionally, Chiaka has played for some of the most dominant club teams in the world, winning the Polish Cup, Italian Cup, Italian Supercup, FIVB Volleyball Club World Championship, Turkish Supercup and Champions League while being named Best Middle Blocker at the 2022 World Club Championship. Mercy (okorie) Jordan
Founder & Executive Director
FIBA Africa Gold Medalist and Former Captain of the Nigeria Women's National Basketball Team, Mercy Okorie, now Mercy Jordan, is passionate about education, sports, and community.
She was born in Nigeria and raised in the U.S.A. Her family found a second home in Houston, TX, where she quickly excelled in education and in sports. In high school, Mercy played all 4 years on the varsity volleyball and basketball teams; was a member of the National Honor Society; and graduated Summa Cum Laude.
She earned a full basketball scholarship to Texas State University where she helped her team win the Southland Conference Championship in 2003 - the Bobcats' 2nd trip to the NCAA tournament in the school's history. After graduating college,
Mercy played with the Houston Stealth and trained with the Houston Comets before continuing her career overseas as a member of Team Nigeria. She is now married with a team of her own.
